Thanksgiving is a such a special holiday. Family and friends come from all over to enjoy time together, give thanks, and, of course, eat some delicious food. But there’s one very important member of your family that you may be forgetting about this Thanksgiving: your pet! Our dogs and cats should be able to enjoy the holiday just like us. Here are a few fall and Thanksgiving-inspired treats you can share with your pet on this special holiday!

A special treat for cats:

If you’re really looking to do something special for your feline family member this Thanksgiving, you can specially prepare some Thanksgiving turkey nibblers for them to enjoy during or after dinner.

A special treat for dogs:

Of course, we can’t forget about our dogs. Your furry one is sure to enjoy his day with these healthy pumpkin pie bites.

P.S. Your pooch will probably also love a slice or two of turkey from your plate!

Safe treats for Dogs and Cats:

While your kids may not think of vegetables as much of a treat, your dog or cat might! Vegetables like broccoli, cauliflower, and green beans are great for pets, as long as they aren’t covered in butter or gravy. Make your pet happy by scooping some vegetables from your plate into their bowl!

Last but definitely not least, we can’t forget about dessert. Since sugar isn’t good for our pets, sweet potato treats are the perfect answer to a pet’s dessert needs: it’s sweet, without all of the sugar. Just be sure the sweet potatoes do not contain any sugar substitute.

You can also simply feed your pet prepared sweet potatoes from your own plate, as long as they do not contain any marshmallow.

Ohlandt wishes everyone and their pets a happy and safe Thanksgiving!
